Are you a natural leader with a passion for food, people, and fast-paced
environments? Glossop Market Hall is looking for an Assistant Manager to join our growing
team!

The Role
You’ll work closely with the GM and traders to help run operations smoothly across several
outlets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring consistency in service, standards, and
    presentation
  • Leading, coaching, and motivating teams to deliver exceptional customer experience
    and hit performance targets
  • Managing staff schedules, training and development, performance evaluations, and
    helping resolve staffing issues
  • Monitoring KPIs, sales figures, and other performance metrics; analysing data to
    identify improvement opportunities
  • Assisting with stock control, inventory management, merchandising, and ensuring
    standards are met and exceeded across all levels.
  • Handling customer concerns and complaints escalated beyond frontline staff,
    ensuring swift and satisfactory resolution
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, hygiene and any relevant legal / regulatory
    requirements in all areas
  • Supporting cost control: managing budgets, minimising waste, optimising operational
    efficiency

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in management or senior supervision, preferably across more
    than one outlet or site
  • Strong leadership skills; someone who can inspire, mentor and drive team
    performance in a busy environment
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under
    pressure
  • Good numerical and analytical ability; comfortable with reading reports, setting
    targets & forecasting
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills—both with staff and customers
  • Flexibility in working hours (shifts, weekends, peak times)
  • A handson approach; willing to roll up sleeves when needed to support the team
