If you catch the smell of crispy fried chicken drifting through Glossop Market Hall this winter — yeah, that’ll be us.

We’re Pattersons, the fried chicken crew born in Liverpool and spreading across the North faster than you can say “extra gravy.” We open our doors in Glossop on Friday 29th November, and we’re bringing our signature chaos, big flavours, and Scouse attitude with us.

OUR STORY

The Pattersons concept was created by Darren James, who, 11 years ago, looked at the fried chicken scene and thought, “Come on, we can do better than this.” Back then, your choices were pretty limited — KFC or a late-night kebab shop. So Darren set out to change that, dreaming up a fried chicken brand built on freshness, fun, and flavour.

To make it happen, he teamed up with Michelin-starred chef Max Gnoyke, who’d worked with culinary legends Michel and Albert Roux at Le Gavroche. Together, they spent weeks (and an unreasonable amount of chicken) perfecting the Pattersons Signature Blend — the golden recipe still used in every one of our kitchens today. Because if it’s boss, you don’t mess with it.

What started as a small Liverpool joint has turned into a proper Northern movement — with sites in Liverpool, Warrington, and Manchester’s Freight Island, plus new openings coming soon in Newcastle, Bebington, and now Glossop.

THE MENU

Our first menu was simple — fried chicken, a burger, and chips. That’s it. Life’s too short for boring food.

Since then, we’ve built a menu that’s become the stuff of legend. Expect double-dunked fried chicken, loaded fries, crispy tenders, wings, stacked burgers, and our newest star — the Loaded Chicken Parmo, already a North East favourite. Oh, and our Famous Gravy? It’s taken years to perfect and we guard the recipe tighter than our fryer settings.

Every bit of food that leaves our counter is made fresh, served hot, and cooked with proper passion.

JOINING THE GLOSSOP CREW

We love a market with character — real people, real food, and proper community spirit — so Glossop Market Hall is right up our street. We’ve been grafting away behind the scenes to get ready for launch, and we can’t wait to serve up some proper chicken and a slice of Scouse charm from Friday 29th November.

You’ll hear the music, smell the chicken, and probably spot someone licking their fingers on the way out — that’s when you’ll know you’ve found us.
