Overview
Tollers Toys is a toy shop for children aged 0 to 5, founded by a dad of three, Simon Childs. We curate toys made from sustainable materials such as FSC-certified wood, cork, natural rubber and organic fabrics. No screens, no batteries. Every toy is chosen for how it is made and how long it lasts, so it can be handed down between siblings and generations rather than ending up in landfill after a few weeks. Because our kids deserve better.
How Tollers started
It started with a trip to a toy shop. Faced with aisle after aisle of flashing, beeping, battery-powered plastic, Simon left empty-handed. He wanted toys he could be proud to give his own children, and they were harder to find than they should be. So he built the alternative.
How we choose our toys
Every toy has to meet our product framework. Sustainable materials. Non-toxic, safe and compliant. Built to last. And wherever we can, made in the UK or Europe to support local supply chains and keep our footprint down. If a toy is not good enough for our kids, it does not make the cut. We do the research so parents do not have to, and we stock trusted makers including Le Toy Van, Elou, Threadbear Design, Woolhugger, Cubika, Mentari, JustBeeKids, and Hippychick.
Why the name Tollers
The name comes from a rocking horse bought in the 1930s that has been loved by more than 30 children across four generations of the same family. Repainted, repaired and still ridden today, he is everything a toy should be, and the standard we hold every toy to.

"Toys like ours are meant to be picked up and played with, so a physical shop was always part of the plan. Glossop Market Hall felt like the right place to start. A market town with a hall full of independent traders who care about what they sell, and a community we are proud to be part of. Our kids deserve better, and now Glossop's families can see what that means for themselves."
