November opening for Glossop's rejuvenated halls

November has been announced as the date for the highly-anticipated opening of Glossop's transformed historic halls following a multi-million pound makeover.

The High Peak Borough Council-led regeneration has created new business opportunities, including for creatives and entrepreneurs, as well as new food and drink, leisure and socialising spaces, and places for community use and events in the rejuvenated town hall, market hall and arcade.

And the Council is pleased to welcome The Hospitality Collective as its partner and the company that will manage the buildings and the activities that take place there.

Councillor Damien Greenhalgh, Deputy Leader and Executive Councillor for Regeneration, Tourism and Leisure, said: "This is the most significant regeneration Glossop has seen in a generation - a once-in-a-lifetime investment right in the heart of our town. While high streets up and down the country are facing real challenges, we're doing something different: revitalising much-loved heritage buildings to create vibrant, modern spaces that will support local jobs, businesses, and community life. I know it's taken longer than any of us would've liked to get here - I share that frustration - but what's ahead of us now is truly exciting.

"We're on the home stretch and I'm absolutely thrilled to officially welcome The Hospitality Collective as our partners in bringing these halls back to life.

Very soon, these spaces will be full of energy once again - buzzing with independent shops, places to eat and drink, events, and community gatherings. I can't wait to see people walking through the doors and making memories in a place that's been reimagined for today, but with deep respect for its history."

As well as gearing up for the final fit-out, The Hospitality Collective have also been busy signing up businesses and brands eager to take space in the market hall with occupancy already at 75%.

Richard Walker, Co-founder and Managing Director of The Hospitality Collective, said: "We are proud and excited to have been selected to lead this project. The local community and businesses have responded enthusiastically to the renovation. As we near our November launch, we are eager to advance the project. We've already secured commitments from some of the most exciting local brands, and we're excited to share these announcements soon."

The brands are set to be announced in the coming weeks so keep up-to-date with the latest news by following the Glossop Market Hall social channels or signing up to the mailing list here.

The work to transform the halls has been funded by the Council with a £2m grant contribution from the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (now transitioned into East Midlands Combined County Authority) via their getting building fund.
