Glossop Market Hall Reveals Exciting New Line-Up of Independent Traders for Mezzanine

Nine new independent businesses are set to join Glossop Market Hall this September, bringing everything from fitness, family play and pet grooming to art, sustainable toys, handmade interiors, crystals, textiles and tabletop gaming to the heart of the town.

Glossop Market Hall has revealed the full line-up of traders joining its brand-new Mezzanine, marking another major milestone for the Market Hall and an exciting addition to Glossop’s independent retail, leisure and creative scene.

Opening this September and overlooking the Main Hall, the new Mezzanine will be home to nine independent businesses, with every unit already fully occupied ahead of launch.

The businesses joining the space are BOXHERHQ, Paws & Relax, The Crystal Caster, Little Wild Patch, Dice & Needles, Urban Reclamation, Stitch Witch, Tollers Toys and Four Corners Art.

Together, the new traders will bring a completely new mix of retail, services, wellbeing, creativity and experiences to the town centre, giving people even more reasons to shop locally, spend time in Glossop and support independent businesses.

From discovering contemporary art or beautifully made sustainable toys to joining a boxing class, taking little ones to a play session, having the dog groomed or finding something unique for the home, the Mezzanine has been designed to broaden what visitors can experience at Glossop Market Hall.

Meet the New Mezzanine Traders

BOXHERHQ

Founded by personal trainer Rosie, BOXHERHQ is an empowering fitness and wellbeing business offering personal training, boxing and small-group exercise classes.

The business began with women-only boxing sessions, creating a supportive space for women to build confidence, get active and discover a new outlet through exercise.

Its new home at Glossop Market Hall will allow BOXHERHQ to grow its offering, with personal training, group exercise, boxing, wellbeing events and workshops all adding a completely new dimension to the Market Hall.

Dice & Needles

One of the Mezzanine’s most distinctive new concepts, Dice & Needles brings together tabletop gaming and professional body piercing.

Designed as an inclusive, community-focused creative space, the business will combine professional piercing services with a welcoming environment for board games and tabletop gaming.

It will create another place for people to meet, socialise and share their interests, while adding something completely different to Glossop’s town-centre offer.

Four Corners Art

Four Corners Art, is a new gallery founded by local art consultant Leon Martyn following more than 20 years working in the art world.

The gallery will showcase work by local artists alongside established modern and contemporary names, with paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture available to view and purchase.

Regular openings and events are also planned, adding another cultural dimension to Glossop Market Hall and creating new opportunities for people to engage with art in the town centre.

Little Wild Patch

The Little Wild Patch will bring child-led play, creativity and community to the Mezzanine, creating a welcoming space for children aged 0–5 and the grown-ups who care for them.

Founded by two friends who are both registered nurses and mums to young boys, the idea grew from their own experiences of trying to find play spaces that worked for children at different developmental stages.

Their sessions are designed around child-led play, with toys and activities chosen to encourage development, imagination and exploration in a safe and relaxed environment.

Just as importantly, The Little Wild Patch aims to build a community for parents, grandparents and caregivers, creating opportunities to meet, connect and enjoy meaningful play together.

Alongside stay-and-play sessions, the business will also offer children’s party hire and event styling for occasions including birthday parties and baby showers. The Little Wild Patch will also be collaborating with other professionals to provide valuable support and services for families, from antenatal classes to baby massage and sensory sessions.

Having previously popped up around Greater Manchester, Stockport and Glossop, the new Mezzanine will give The Little Wild Patch an exciting home in the centre of town.

Paws & Relax

Four-legged visitors are part of the new line-up too.

Paws & Relax will bring professional dog and cat grooming to the Mezzanine, offering an individual and caring approach tailored to each animal.

Owner Erin is fully qualified, animal CPR trained and has years of experience working with dogs. Alongside grooming, the business offers additional services including pick-up and drop-off, loyalty schemes and reiki massage.

Its arrival adds another useful everyday service to Glossop town centre and gives local pet owners another reason to make the Market Hall part of their regular routine.

Stitch Witch

Local seamstress Amanda Groves will bring Stitch Witch Glossop, a clothing alterations and repair service, to the Mezzanine.

With a focus on sustainability and fixing instead of replacing, Stitch Witch is guided by the ethos: ‘Buy less, choose well and make it last.’

The business will offer clothing alterations with a quick turnaround, including shortening garments, replacing zips, patching holes and tapering clothes to fit the customer.

Amanda will also offer household drapery and soft-furnishing services, including curtain shortening and custom-made cushions, alongside handmade crochet ‘forever flowers’ designed to last.

The Crystal Caster

Locally owned The Crystal Caster specialises in crystals, minerals and gemstone jewellery.

Founded from a passion for crystals and their natural beauty, the business has developed an extensive collection of handpicked pieces sourced through trusted suppliers.

Whether visitors are established collectors, searching for a thoughtful gift or simply discovering crystals for the first time, The Crystal Caster will add another distinctive independent retail offer to Glossop.

Tollers Toys

Tollers Toys is bringing its online business into the real world with its first bricks-and-mortar shop at Glossop Market Hall.

Founded by dad-of-three Simon Childs, Tollers was created as an alternative to disposable, battery-powered and screen-based toys.

The business handpicks sustainable, beautifully made toys designed to encourage imaginative play and last for years, using materials including sustainably sourced wood, cork, natural rubber and organic fabrics.

The new Glossop shop will give families the opportunity to see and try the collection in person. For Glossop, it means another family-friendly independent retailer joining the high street and another reason for parents and children to spend time in the town centre.

Urban Reclamation

Urban Reclamation will showcase handmade furniture and homeware created from reclaimed timber.

Its range includes rustic shelving, console tables, benches, record cabinets, desks, mantel beams, bath boards, chopping boards and other individually crafted pieces designed to give reclaimed materials a new life.

The business brings craftsmanship, sustainability and distinctive design to the Mezzanine, giving shoppers the opportunity to discover furniture and homeware with genuine character.

A New Level for Glossop

The Mezzanine has been designed to be much more than simply another shopping area.

The new level will include additional seating, pool tables and dartboards, creating another lively place where people can shop, meet friends, relax and spend time together.

The opening will complete the transformation of the historic Market Hall complex, joining the Retail Arcade, the food and drink traders of the Main Hall and The Old Town Hall wedding and events venue.

Having already welcomed more than half a million visitors since reopening, the addition of the Mezzanine represents another significant step forward not just for Glossop Market Hall, but for the wider town.

It also strengthens Glossop’s reputation as a place where independent businesses, makers and entrepreneurs can build something distinctive.

Final works on the Mezzanine are now underway ahead of its opening in September.
