Iconic Glossop Market Hall Unveils First Traders

Glossop Market Hall is about to be transformed, and we're so excited to share a sneak peek of what's in store! Set to reopen this November after a major renovation funded and led by High Peak Borough Council, the Market Hall is revealing its first three vendors, and they're bringing something truly special to the town.

This isn't just a reopening; it's going to be game-changing for the community, bringing the very best in shopping, food, and hospitality to the town.

A Taste of What's to Come

Forest Distillery

Get ready, Glossop, a new era of craft spirits is about to begin. Forest Distillery, one of the UK's most celebrated independent distillers, is set to make history by opening a one-of-a-kind distillery in the market hall.

This isn't just a bar or a bottle shop; it's a live, working distillery that will bring the art of spirit-making directly to the community. They will offer residents and visitors alike the chance to enjoy their award-winning products directly from the team, alongside tasting experiences and a showcase of their carefully crafted spirits.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Karl and Lindsay Bond, the distillery began life in 2014, producing small-batch gins from their home in Macclesfield Forest. Since then, it has grown into one of the UK’s most respected independent distillers, with a portfolio that includes Forest Gin, Forest Whisky, and a range of limited-edition spirits stocked in leading bars, restaurants, and retailers nationwide.

But this is not just Forest Distillery’s new home; this is the birth of Glossop Distillery, a brand created exclusively for our town.

Lindsay Bond, Co-Founder of Forest Distillery, said: “We started Forest Distillery in our kitchen with a copper still, never imagining how far it would take us. Today, our spirits are enjoyed across the UK, but our heart is still firmly here in the Peaks. Opening at Glossop Market Hall is a chance to share our story and our products with new friends and neighbours. We’re really excited to join such a vibrant line-up of traders.”

Hello Oriental

Prepare your taste buds, Glossop. Hello Oriental, the renowned Asian food hall that has captivated Manchester, is bringing its vibrant, authentic flavours directly to Glossop.

Hello Oriental will be serving a diverse menu inspired by the buzzing street food scenes of China, Vietnam, Korea and beyond in the food hall. Over in the market hall, Hello Oriental will offer bubble teas alongside Chinese and East Asian ingredients, snacks and treats in their convenience store.

Ricky Yip, Co-Founder of Hello Oriental, said: “We’re so excited to be part of the next chapter at Glossop Market Hall. This is more than just great food, it’s a chance to share the flavours I grew up with, the dishes my family cooked, and the culture that shaped Hello Oriental. Glossop has such a strong sense of community, and we can’t wait to bring our East Asian street food to this amazing space, surrounded by other brilliant independents”.

B&V Doggo General Store

Good news, dog lovers! A brand beloved across the North West is making its way to Glossop. B&V Doggo General Store, the go-to destination for stylish, high-quality dog products, is bringing its unique brand of pet care to our town. This isn't just a new shop; it’s a new hub for our four-legged friends.

For over ten years, B&V has built a reputation in Altrincham. What began as a small, local venture has blossomed into a beloved brand, known for its meticulously curated selection of products.

They pride themselves on finding items that combine practicality with personality, from artisan treats that will get tails wagging to beautifully designed accessories that look as good on you as they do on your dog.

Robert Benson, Founder of B&V, said: “We’ve built our business around a simple passion — giving dogs and their families the very best. Glossop Market Hall gives us the perfect opportunity to share what we do with a new community, in a space that values independent brands and the joy they bring. We’re really looking forward to becoming part of the town’s daily life.”

Just the Beginning

This announcement represents only the first chapter in the story of Glossop Market Hall’s relaunch which The Hospitality Collective is operating. More traders will be revealed over the coming weeks, building towards a November opening that promises to bring new life, energy, and opportunity to the town.

Richard Walker, Managing Director of the Hospitality Collective, added:

“We’re thrilled to announce our first three traders, each of whom represents the spirit of the Market Hall, independent, creative, and community-focused. This is just the start, and we’ll be making more announcements soon. Glossop can look forward to a place that truly reflects the energy of the town and the quality of the businesses within it.”

About the Regeneration Project

The reopening of Glossop Market Hall is the result of a major rejuvenation project that has seen the town’s historic halls carefully restored and reimagined for the future. The vision behind the redevelopment has been to breathe new life into one of Glossop’s most iconic landmarks, ensuring it remains a vibrant centre for commerce and community for generations to come.

The transformation includes modernised facilities for traders, flexible event space, and a refreshed environment designed to attract both residents and visitors. By blending heritage architecture with contemporary design, the project has created a unique marketplace that celebrates Glossop’s history while embracing its future.
